UK Pledges $176 Million to Support Humanitarian Response in Yemen for 2025

​LONDON – Official Statement:

The British government has pledged over $176.4 million (£139 million) to support the humanitarian response in Yemen for the 2025 fiscal year.

​In a statement delivered to Parliament on Tuesday, Hamish Falconer, the Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa, affirmed that the UK remains a leading donor to Yemen’s humanitarian needs. He emphasized that addressing the crisis is a top priority for the British government.

​Severe Food Insecurity: Minister Falconer highlighted that Yemen continues to face one of the world's most dire humanitarian crises, with 18.1 million people suffering from acute food insecurity.

​Field Observations: The Minister noted that he witnessed the scale of the crisis firsthand during his visit last November to UK-funded medical clinics in the city of Aden.

​Urgent Appeal: "We must not forget this crisis," Falconer stated, urging the international community to provide all possible support to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
