Opportunity: Erasmus+ 2026 Call for Proposals
Official Reference: C/2025/6080 | Total Budget: €4.47 Billion
The European Commission has officially opened the 2026 call for the Erasmus+ Programme. This massive funding initiative supports education, training, youth, and sport projects worldwide, with a strong focus on inclusion, digital transformation, and green sustainability.
The funding is distributed across three primary pillars:
- Education and Training: €3.977 billion (Higher Education, VET, Schools, and Adult Education).
- Youth: €421.8 million (Non-formal learning and youth participation).
- Sport: €74 million (Staff mobility and European sport events).
- Eligibility for Yemen
Yemen is classified as a "Third Country not associated to the Programme" within Region 7 (Middle East). While Yemeni organizations cannot lead every type of project, they have significant opportunities as partners and beneficiaries:
- Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE): Yemeni universities can participate in projects to modernize curricula and governance.
- Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters: Yemeni institutions can be part of international consortia, and Yemeni students are eligible for full scholarships to study in Europe.
- Jean Monnet Actions: Open to Yemeni universities for teaching and research on EU-related topics.
- International Credit Mobility (ICM): Allows Yemeni students and staff to move to European universities for short-term exchanges (applications are led by the European partner).
- Youth & VET Capacity Building: Opportunities exist for Yemeni NGOs and vocational centers to partner with European counterparts.
- Key Deadlines (2026)
Applicants must submit by 12:00 (Midday) or 17:00 (CET) Brussels time depending on the action:
- Jean Monnet Actions: 3 February 2026
- Capacity Building (Higher Education): 10 February 2026

- Capacity Building (VET & Sport): 26 March 2026
- Centres of Vocational Excellence: 3 September 2026

- Participation Criteria
- Entities: Public or private bodies active in education, training, youth, and sport.
- Informal Groups: Groups of young people (not necessarily registered NGOs) can apply for specific youth-led projects.
- Consortium Requirement: Most actions require a partnership. For Yemeni organizations, this usually means partnering with at least two or three organizations from EU Member States.
- Priorities: Projects should align with EU priorities: Inclusion & Diversity, Digital Transition, Environment/Climate Change, and Participation in Democratic Life.
- How to Apply
- Register: Organizations must have an EU Login and a Participant Identification Code (PIC).
